A Solution of the Nonlinear Logarithmic Diffusion Equation

In this work, we solve the one-dimensional nonlinear logarithmic diffusion equation using a lattice-Boltzmann model and a d1q3 velocity scheme. Besides, the Tanh solitary wave method is used finding several families of solutions.

Extinction and Nonextinction for the Fast Diffusion Equation

and Applied Analysis 3 3. Main Results In this section, by applying the energy method introduced in [11] and the comparison result in Lemma 3 of the problem (8), we give the main results on the extinction and nonextinction of the solution to the problem (1). 3.1. Extinction of the Solution. In this subsection, we consider the extinction of the solution to the problem (1) and give the conditions...

Solutions of diffusion equation for point defects

An analytical solution of the equation describing diffusion of intrinsic point defects in semiconductor crystals has been obtained for a one-dimensional finite-length domain with the Robin-type boundary conditions. The distributions of point defects for different migration lengths of defects have been calculated. The exact analytical solution was used to verify the approximate numerical solutio...

Asymptotic Behaviour for Logarithmic Diffusion

In the paper, we prove that the solutions of the ddimensional logarithmic diffusion equation, with non-homogeneous Dirichlet boundary data, decay exponentially in time towards its own steady state. The result is valid not only in L-norm (as customary when applying entropy dissipation methods), but also in any L-norm with p ∈ [1, +∞).
